VCL Didactical Design Patterns

Problem	For making the VCL project happen, the participants have to be arranged in groups, even though it is quite difficult because of the initial anonymity.
Framework	More than one university involved; more than one country involved; participants with heterogeneous previous knowledge; role of the project manager.
Solution	For starting their collaborative teamwork, it is important that the VCL participants get to know each other. Due to the fact that a real-life meeting of a virtual project is hard to realize, the members have to set up their personal profile on the learning platform in the beginning of the VCL project. By creating their profile, they first have to be creative and second get to know the learning environment. On the one hand this should advance motivation for a successful VCL participation and on the other hand they get to know their fellow students better. In addition, the profile creation is necessary for the team arrangement by the project managers (see Organization of the Team Assignment).
