C 1.1- Inclusion of Different Student Groups

Ukraine is a country that experienced the biggest war in the 21st century. To safeguard its independence, Ukraine assembled an army of unprecedented scale in Europe, comprising over 1.2 million soldiers. It is crucial to enhance avenues for higher education for those presently serving in the military, as well as those who will continue to do so post-war. This necessity extends to injured soldiers who are unable to resume their former educational pursuits.

  • Propose a strategy to include the following groups:
    • relocated students
    • students who are in the occupied territories
    • students who joined military forces
    • students who returned wounded from the battlefield and need a physical and psychological rehabilitation
    • other groups that you consider to be important

C 1.2- Social and Financial Support Systems for Soldiers

Even though Ukraine has always had military conscription, some men could defer military service and enroll in university studies right after high school. However, after Ukraine experienced the invasion by another country, the government started to work on a law that would make military service obligatory.

a) Develop a comprehensive campaign encompassing social and financial support structures for individuals who have served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as well as their families, centered around benefit for obtaining higher education. For example, you can incorporate various benefits, such as additional scholarships, simplified enrollment procedures or access to workplaces with an attractive payment.

b) Draft an exemplary budget for one student who has completed military service and is eager to enroll in a bachelor's degree program in Ukraine
